Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Dusty #3...MI
Dusty is doing well with us. First couple of days he kept breaking out of our fence but would come back after he went on a adventure for an hour or so. First time he did it I was freaked out and called his foster mom. We had to update our fence for him. Now he stays in and hasn't broken out since the new fencing went up. Dusty is definitely food aggressive so I just separate him and our other dog while they eat. He has been to our vet and they say he is still heartworm positive. We been treating him with his heartgard. In spring we will have him tested for it again if still positive our vet says we will need to stay at clinic and get medicine to fight it off. Besides that he gets along with Olive our other dachshund and loves our family. As well as we love him.
Arden....TN
This photo of Arden kicking back was shared by his forever family!!
Dutch...IN
We got this picture of Dutch enjoying some time with a friend!!
Shelly #2...MI
Shelly is doing great! She has filled out a bit, loves going for walks and going to local dog parks to visit with other dogs. She also has 'playdates' with another doxie named Carly.
She is still learning things. We have her going to obedience classes to learn some basic commands. I have her on a routine as far as going potty outside but am trying to teach her to let me know when she has to go. If we have a winter as terrible as last year she won't be able to stay outside very long at all. I think she came from Tennessee so she probably hasn't experienced a very cold winter before.
She is a very sweet pup and loves her new family and we love her. I couldn't imagine life without her now.

Cindy #2...SC
Thank you for inquiring about Cindy. She is doing awesome!! It only took about 4 days for her to adjust to our household and to her new 3 fursiblings and vice versa. We adore her and she has taken her place in our home and in our hearts already. She loves it here with us..........that is very clear and we could not be happier. She is SO loving and easygoing. Thank you for the work y'all do and for saving this precious baby. I have enclosed a few pics. I wanted to send one with all 4 of my dogs together, but that has proven to be quite difficult. I did manage a cute one of Cindy and one of her new sisters. (She now has 2 fur sisters and 1 fur brother). Lol
