BIO

Cindy came in with two other females from NY that were taken to the vet to be euthanized, reason unknown, but the vet would not do it so one of the young ladies at the vet clinic reached out to us to help these lovely ladies.

Cindy has got to be the kindest gentlest soul! She is low maintenance, just wants a lap to lay on or a doggie bed to sleep in. She’ll follow you all over the house and in the yard, just to be close but is fine when you leave to go out for the evening or to work. Perfect…darn straight she is and she’s proud of it and deserves a home where someone will love her unconditionally. Please be kind and give her that home…many kisses coming your way.

She did have a dental and lost all her nasty teeth, unfortunately one of those teeth when coming out cracked her jaw but it’s all healed now but she does need to be kept on soft food, either canned or hard food softened with water and allowed to soak up and soften.  Trust her foster mom it doesn’t stop her from enjoying her food!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
