BIO

Dusty#3  came in from Lyles, TX animal control. Did have some medical  issues that have now been address and he's looking for his forever home. Dusty loves to play with other dogs, is housebroken and is even good with cats. We do not however want Dusty jumping up and down off furniture or doing a lot of stairs. HE loves to play, cuddle and doesn’t know a stranger. He gets along with kids as well and walks great on a leash. He would make a great all around addition to any family on the understanding that he should not be allowed to do a lot of jumping just like all dachshund or a lot of stairs. If you are looking for that perfect dog then look no further.  Please please give him a chance to win your love and a forever home for him.  Also will come with a 6 months supply of Heartgard.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
