Animal Success Stories
Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Bates...KY
Bates (now Cooper) is a growing boy! We got this updated photo from his family!
REX... TN
Rex is now called Gandalf, he has a
furry white chest that gives the appearance of a long white beard and
we are big Lord of the Ring fans. It didn't take him long to learn his
name, he is very smart!
We had adopted our sweet Annie ( doxie mix) from AADR two years ago
this August. She has been such a joy and we were wanting a pal for
her. We got Annie from Diane and we knew if we got another dog, we
would go through AADR. All the animals are so well cared for and your
organization is excellent in making sure all the animals are matched
up well.
Since Annie has to be the princess, I contacted Diane, who knows
Annie's personality, and sure enough, she said she had the perfect boy
for us!!!
Annie wasn't going to have it at first, but I knew Diane would help
and she had wonderful advice for handling Annie. It took Annie just
two days, after speaking to Diane, to snap out of it and now they are
just like two peas in a pod. She has been such a sweetheart showing
him the ropes. Annie was taught to play tag with us and it only took
us a little over two weeks to get Gandalf to play along, he even
starts the game sometimes. They are bringing such joy to our home and
we are extremely lucky to have them both.
We appreciate your organization for all you do . From taking them in,
taking excellent care of them , and matching them with their new
forever homes, you guys ROCK!!!
Sincerely,
Renee G.
Marley...MD
Marley is now Isabella, we just call her Izzy for short. She did not really respond to her name and it was so close to our other dog Molly we decided to change it. She comes to Izzy now. She has been through a lot and has come so far in a short period of time. She now weighs in at 8.6 pounds which I think is great considering we haven't had her that long and she was really sick for a while. We all really love her especially her new buddy Molly. They play together, lie in the sun together and go for long walks. Izzy is learning very fast. She did not walk on a lease well or potty outside when she arrived. It seemed like she was use to going on pee pads inside. With a lot of encouragement she now is walking on a lease pretty well and is going to potty outside pretty well. She eats like a champ and is very treat oriented so it helps a lot with training. She seems to like me and my husband equally now and sleeps on both of our laps. She does this thing where she pats my husbands face with her paw which she doesn't do to me, we can't quite figure out what that means. She even does well in her crate when I go to work she just sleeps the day away. I think she is a very good fit for our home and we are very happy. I don't know if you can see the weight gain in the above pictures, the first picture was when she first got here.
Thanks so much for enquiring
Sharyn and Ron R.
Daisy #9...NY
Just wanted u to know that daisy is adjusting very nicely. She is quite a vocal young lady, but very well behaved. This is one beautiful dog.
