BIO:

Hi my name is Bates.. I am only 7 weeks old, so I am really small.  I am just a very silly happy go lucky boy!  My foster mom is always laughing at my pouncing on balls and when I try to play with my older and much bigger foster brothers...something about my wittle bark makes her giggle :)   I mostly play with my sister, who is also my age.  We all play outside in our big fenced in yard.  Sissy and I hop around outside and foster mommy says we act like bunnies.  I love being held and cuddling on my humans. Playing, eating, potty breaks, and lots of snuggles and kisses is ruff life!  I am looking for my forever home, someone who will give me lots of love and, because I am a just a little puppy, I will need more some help housebreaking, walking on a  leash, and all those other puppy trainings.

More about Bates...KY

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
