Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Abby #2...GA
Hello, she is doing SOOOOOO GREAT! I will attach a recent photo (she shares my pillow) and is attached to my ankle! I love her so much!

Brady #2...NJ
Brady has adjusted well except for riding in a car. I think he might associate it with his transport here and fears that I might drive about an hour and a half and then will pass him off to someone else. On a recent trip to Ohio he did finally calm down and sleep most of the way. But on short trips around here he is still some anxious. When he first came I could never be out of his sight. He was at my heel where ever I went in the house. Even if he was asleep and I left the room he was instantly awake and following me. Now he is comfortable with me being out of his sight down the hall, as long as it is not too long. If I've been gone too long he comes looking for me. Then he stands in the hall and waits for me to finish and come back down the hall where he thinks I belong! He will actually sit in a different chair from me now. Not having lived with a doxie for 2 years I had forgotten some of their cute tricks. While in Ohio, they had about 3 inches of snow on the ground. I wondered what his reaction would be. I had to laugh when his first action was to roll in it until he was completely covered!
Scooter..DE
Scooter is fantastic! He's an interesting Doxie, somewhat different personality (but great), from the other doxies that I've had . . . He can dance and sing!! LOL hard to believe but true! I'll try to post some video to the FB page.
He was shy at first, he's only now beginning play with his toys and fetch, but he's a loving dog, and he listens to commands and has never had a potty accident. If fact, he's even graciously allowed Simon the Cat to share his new bed, well sometimes ;)
I appreciate all that you guys do for these little fellas, I'm hoping to get involved myself with home visits, transport, etc.
Thanks again,
Happy New Year!
Michelle
Oscar #14...FL
We are so happy with Oscar and he is such a wonderful doxie! He is SO loving and so good and so smart! We love him so very much and are having such a good time playing with him and walking with him and our other adopted doxie, Ruffles.
They get along extremely well. Oscar is so loving and would sit with us for hours on end! He is a real cuddler and loves everyone.
I am attaching some pictures of Oscar. I have so many pictures, if you want more, let me know.

Emma#3...VA
i. Thanks for reading out! Emma is doing so very well, it is amazing. We are all so very happy, and I'm not sure who kisses who more!
>
> We are in the middle is some major construction right now (Emma is handling all the noise & workers in & out if the house all day better than we are!) so busy. Hoping things will calm down a bit in the next few weeks so I can take some photos....I will definitely share. I also got a new & highly technical new camera for Christmas, which I'm trying to use, which is also hindering the picture taking process! Took me a half hour to figure out how to get the strap on!!
>
> Anyway, we are all ridiculously happy. Emma loved her walks & being outside. We are trying to learn sit & stay and wait, and she is a true lap dog. She's also made it to the big bed, and has become protective & barks when the doorbell rings.
