Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

MOHAWK...TN
I don’t know how interested you are in keeping up with your former charges, but I just have to tell you that this little Mohawk I have had for a little over a year is the sweetest friend I have ever had. He’s so happy and friendly and he loves me to death. I really believe he has saved my life. He makes me get up in the morning; get out of the house and get a little exercise every day. He has me well trained so that he seldom does his business in the house. I think he must have had some training at sometime because he listens very well and does not try to run away.
The biggest problem I have is that my daughter and one of my sons are arguing over who will get him if I can no longer keep him. They both love him. I have news for them. I am still going very strong at 90 years. I only wish I could take another to keep Mohawk company, but I think one doxie is enough for me at this point in life.
Thank you so much for saving him and letting me adopt him. I don’t understand how anybody could have thrown him away.

Mindy 2...NC
Mindy is doing absolutely wonderful! We are madly in love with her!!!! She has taken real well to our other doxie Murphy and he seems to be fine with her. They sleep together and she follows him everywhere. She also is fine with our cat and the grandkids adore her. So she is just a perfect fit for our family.
I'm working from home today and she is here beside me on my bed while I'm on the computer. I think she is adjusting well. She is a little less skiddish than she was that first week so she is starting to trust us and feel comfortable in our home. We took her to visit my daughter in Charleston over the weekend. She traveled fine and did well the whole weekend. As I said, we are all just smitten with her.
I'm attaching a photo from this weekend. She was sitting on the sofa at my daughter's house beside Murphy. I looked and realized somehow he had his paw around her. It was just too cute!
Thanks again for all your help in the adoption process and continued success. My best to you and your family!
Anne
Molly4....NC
This pretty girl has had a lot of change this past year including moving from NV to NC! Molly is such a good girl and is so loyal to her person. Her previous family loved her very much but wanted the best for her so she came to stay with All American Dachshund Rescue. When she came to her foster home, she was confused and anxious. Now she couldn't be happier with her forever family and has a new fur sister named Baylee who is teaching her the ropes! Thank you to the Plunkett family for taking such good care of Molly and for adopting her into their family!
Meadow...NC
Meadow was just a puppy when she was dumped at a high kill shelter. Not only was she a walking skeleton but she had large gashes along the side of her body and a large hole in her ear. It was very infected and she surely would have died. On top of that, Meadow was extremely terrified of all human beings. She would just hide in her crate and cry and cry. What a sad way for a little puppy like meadow to start out life!!
Now Meadow has gone to her forever home and is so happy!!! She no longer feels scared to walk thru an open door or flinches whenever she hears a noise. Her wounds have healed up, she has gained her weight back, and most importantly she is LOVED!!! Her puppy antics have returned and her favorite thing to do is to give kisses, run at top speeds, and snuggle with her stuffed animals!
Here is a message from her forever family:
Meadow did fine on the way home. We stopped by Pet Smart on the way in after knocking half the food off the bottom shelf, she actually hoped in the crate you see in the picture.
Once home, she is slowly beginning to come into her own. She immediately claimed Stacy's big bed as her own and Stacy was fine with sharing. Meadow even ventured into Stacy's big crate which could of been disastrous, but Stacy reacted quite well and waited for her to leave before she went in.
After spending some quality time on our bed last evening, Meadow slept sound all night in her crate and ate her food both last night and this morning. We feel over time, she is going to be just fine and a great edition to our family.
MAGGIE MAE...TN
Dear Aunt Diane and Aunt Jessica,
I just wanted to take a few minutes to say thanks for not giving up on me. I have to
admit when you first told me about my new Mommies I was a little scared. After a spooky
experience, a girl can't be too cautious you know. Anyway, I am a happy little girl now!
All of my hair has grown out and I go outdoors by myself and scare off all of the monsters
that come along. I am also totally Potty trained. I go outdoors but when Moo (my new
sissy) and I are staying home to guard the house we are both trained to our Puppy Pads.
I just can't thank you enough for all AADR has done for me. You looked and looked and
sure enough I now have a "FOREVER HOME". I love my new mommies and sissy, Moo and
they simply adore me. It is a match made in Heaven. I don't have to worry about anything
ever again. Drop by to see me anytime and see how cute I am now. I am sending a picture
for you to share with everyone so they can see what a cutie pie I am.
I love you and AADR to pieces,
Maggie Mae (I have an alias, Maggie Roo because I can jump higher than a Kangaroo!)
