MAGGIE MAE was surrended by a homeless couple when the motel they were staying at said the dogs had to go or they did. With a broken heart they handed there dogs over to us. They had a total of 5 wires. We are finding homes for two of them but have promised them that if they get on there feet they can have three of them back so they will be in foster care for a while. In the mean time MAGGIE MAE is looking for a home that has another dog male or female and no kids as she is not used to kids and we do not know about cats. We want her to have a fenced in yard and if you keep her on a schedule she is fine with pottying outside. Please help her find a forever home and help the homeless people so they don't worry about their babies they had to give up. MAGGIE MAE is a very sweet sweet girl and is just waiting to be spoiled by you!!

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
