Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Daisy6...GA
She is doing so wonderful and is totally enjoying her permanent home. We are giving her all the love she deserves. She is so great at minding and loves to ride and go for walks. Thank AARD for doing all the great care for Daisy that allowed me to be able to adopt her. Our home is so much happier having her here everyday to love us and let us do our part to give her the very best home. If i can be of any future assistance please let me know. Thanks Julie
FRAZIER...MA
From Frazier's forever Mom!! == "An update on our sweetheart is long overdue. He is so wonderful well behaved and now, that we have become familiar with all the things he is sensitive to, he is healthy, feeling well, playful and covered with a thick and long coat - even on his once bear belly. My husband refers to him as his "Bearcub". No hair grew back over his large scar on his right hip, but he does not have to enter a beauty contest. He is beautiful!!!! He sleeps with us and loves to go under the cover. What a snuggler. He also has his and our routine. We had to get up extremely early yesterday (4am) and he did not like that. Jumped out of bed and started barking at us!! He is so funny.
From day one he would occasionally let out a short screach when we picked him up and we contributed it to his pelvic injury. It turns out he actually had a bit of early arthritis (due to the many steroid shots in his previous live). Glucosamine did the trick, no more screaches, running around, going for long walks, greeting everyone on the road with and without dogs and loves to eat!!!! His treats are grapefruit or any other citrus and fruit except grapes, loves vegetables and despite our carful rationing of his food, he maintains a little chubby circumference. When he had a nasty reaction to a toy Fessant which he loved (made in China) we finally stuffed a woolen sock with cotton. He is just as happy with it, chases it and kicks it around and no more vomiting or diarrhea. He had similar reactions to the chewing leathers and treats. We found some plain, undied leathers made in the US at Targets and he is doing well with them. He also gets diarrhea from Turkey and Chicken. One of the Heartworm Meds gave him a nasty cough. He is tolerating Interceptor. However that is no longer available. Don't know what the Vet will try. I trust our new Vet so I feel confident. He did vaccinate him against Lime disease. We have a lot of Ticks in our area.
I always look at your available dog list and would love to take another one, but my husband won't let me. My heart always bleeds when I read the stories.
Thanks for all the love and dedication you all show to these little "Dackel"
I have some pictures from Easter on the camera, but I have to wait for my son to put them on to the computer. I'll send them .
I hope you have been spared by these terrible storms."

Nina is now known as "Vinna". She has been in agility for 5 weeks now and is doing absolutely "wonderful". I also foster for AADR- and Vinna is actually mentoring Amelia right now. I love her feisty personality and her persistent drive to please. When my Lil Lucci had back surgery last summer- I thought my agility days were over- until I MET Vinna! Now everything is good in my world. I will up load video's of Vinna in agility as she progress's in class. Thank you for asking how my newest doxie member is doing: All is well in our world!
