BIO:

FRAIZER was turned into a shelter after he was hit by a car. He had skin scraped off his hind leg and a broken pelvis. We also found out that his owner died and the family of the owner didn’t want him so that’s why they dumped him at the shelter after he was hit by the car. WHY anyone would not want FRAZIER is a mystery to us, he is friendly, very housebroken and no trouble at all.  We’ve healed his pelvis and his wound is almost healed. He was over-weight when we took him in but he’s lost 2 lbs and is really looking good. He will beg you to let him in the bedroom or will put himself to bed at night. He sleeps down at the foot of the bed and is still all night long. He would be a great pet for an older retired person or even someone that works as he is fine not in a crate but also does fine in a crate. FRAZIER is probably one of the nicest dachshunds that is as close to perfect as you can get that we’ve had in a long time. Please consider giving him a lasting forever home where he won’t have to worry about being dumped again.    This one will be hard to let go because he is a friendly happy boy and no trouble to foster.      

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
