Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Snoopy...FL
Snoopy seems to be settling into his new home with Chloe to hang out with instead of Woodstock.
Spirit..NY
Here is a picture of Spirit roughing it in his new home.
Note from his human: "Wanted to send a picture of spirit and Doug! He said no to this pup for so long and now they are best friends!" - yeah, been there done that. Probably be adding a second dog in a few years.
Stacy..VT
Thought you might like an update on Stacey. She's doing quite well, and she and Erwin are starting to play a lot more. We got her a sweater and a coat since she was always cold. Her first winter in the north is a bit chillier than she's used to. We all went to my parents' house in Springfield for Christmas, and we weren't sure what Stacey would think of being in a strange house with four other strange dogs, but she fit right in with the pack. All six dogs had their spots on the couch and everyone was prompt for meal times. (By everyone, I mean everyone with four feet and fur). I'm attaching some pictures of the trip. Stacey on the couch with her "cousins," Stacey using Kennedy's Christmas gift as a pillow, Stacey in her sweater and Stacey and Erwin hanging out with me after dinner.
Hope you had a happy holiday.

SIR ARTHUR..TN
Just wanted to let everyone know that Sir Arthur is doing well. We have
decided to rename him "Sir Otis" since we already had an "Oscar." Oscar and
Arthur was just too hard for us to say! He answers to it since we kept the"Sir" part.
SHORTIE aka LUCY
Today is Shortie's (now Lucy) one year gotcha day.
Happy Gotcha Day, my sweet, sweet Lucy. It was one year ago today that I took that long awaited drive to meet you and bring you to your forever home. I had not even seen a picture of you, but I knew that you were meant to be mine when I first read your story.
How could one not fall in love with the dachsie behind that story??? I did, and so did others. When I applied for your adoption, they told me you were already adopted. Although disappointed, I knew AADR would find you a good home. Then.....several days later, I received an email saying that your adoption fell through and they wanted to know if I was still interested adopting you. Well, the rest is history, and now we're celebrating your first Gotcha Day.
Lucy, you are such a sweet little girl. You are ALWAYS so happy and so content. Even though you have no teeth and are a bit older than your fur-siblings, you don't let that stop you. You are always ready to play, eat, go to bed, take a nap, whatever, it doesn't matter to you. You are such an easy-going little sweetheart. I am so honored to be your HooMom and your former daddy can rest assured knowing that you are loved very, very much.
Thank you, Diane, for all you do for these sweet babies.
