Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Steve...NJ

Stevie is doing great he adjusted so well in a matter of days. He is spoiled just like the other 4 in the picture. He weighs 12lbs not sure what he weighed when we got him but he deffinetly gained some weight. My other pups adore him and taught him so much I LOVE HIM AND KNEW THIS WAS THE PLACE FOR HIM THE MINUTE I SAW HIM .... Theresa Stevie is second to right side only one looking at camra lol

Sookie..IN

Sookie is adjusting great! She is learning new things from her older puppy sister(niko), and niko is getting some habits from her. Lol. She is doing great at potty training, has learned to sit, and rings the bell on the back door when she wants/needs to go out. She is a very smart little girl, and very strong willed. She goes to the vet tomorrow, but I weighed her, and she is up to 8lbs. Here is a picture of sookie and her sister niko in the backyard. Heather

Angie, He is doing great! We renamed him Zakk. He gets along great with the other dogs and is a pleasure to be around. He has been great in the house. No accidents. He's a great sleeper/snuggler. He's been to the vet and they reduced the amount of heart meds he was taking. We are VERY happy to have adopted him. I will recommend your organization to anyone I know interested in a dachshund. Thanks! Heather

SASSY...GA

Sassy (Now Cassie!'s foster mom got this email: Hi Debbie, One year ago today I adopted Cassie from your foster care. She is doing just fine and is my constant companion. Just wanted you to know what a great job your organization does. Thanks again. Carl S.

SUSIE...TN

Susie has completely recovered from her surgery and has become an absolutely spoiled rotten doxie in no time at all. She has become a happy playful mischievous toy stealer. Her sister Molly, who was also adopted 5 years earlier, takes turns stealing each other's toys. Even if it just to sit on, so the other one can't have it. Susie's table manners are getting much better, but we still need to work on eating at a slow pace. Her coat was much improved in a matter of weeks, and her ribs are no longer showing. We are very blessed to have these sweet little girls as part of our family.
