Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Malfoy...LA
Hi Diane & Amy, I hope all is well with you guys. Today is Nashʼs 1st birthday, and I just wanted to send you guys his party picture. We had a doggie cake and party hats, and Nash got a new stuffed animal and a ball. Heʼs doing great! He had to be crated at night for a while because he was sneaking out of bed to potty. But now that he knows the routine he gets to sleep in the bed. He fits right into our family! Thanks, Shannon Erwin
Mariah...NY
I would be happy to share the love we have for Mariah (who is now Stella). From the second she came into our lives we were in love. She is a well adjusted, happy, affectionate little girl and a perfect companion to our little boy Guinness. She loves everyone and everyone loves her. If we were to get another dachshund in the future we would definitely do it through ADR. The process was thorough and insured that the dog was going to home where she would be well cared for.
Thank you for bringing her into our lives.
Debbie
Maggie #5...NJ
Maggie is doig GREAT!!! Except for a little separation anxiety when we leave she is doing fantastic. Has settled in like she lived here forever and what a lover! She couldn't be sweeter! We had a party over the weeked and had about 30 people coming and going all night and she was the star of the party! She was super friendly!!! Here are two pictures in her favorite spot... on top of the back of the chair in the living room!
Thank you for the follow up!

Marcee...TN
I just wanted to let you know that Marcee is doing wonderful. She has gained weight and looks great. Her hair is slowly growing back, but I think she'll always have some bald spots. She has bonded very well with my other male dachshund and they're slowly started to play together. She loves riding around in our golf cart in her pink ruffled dress as long as she has a blanket nearby in case she gets cold. We'll be leaving for Florida the day after Christmas for three months and I've already purchased her several sun dresses so she'll be gorgeous down there. Both of my dachshunds will be so happy to get in warm weather again. They both stay on their heated blanket buried under covers all day now that the temperatures have dropped. I know you deal with this every day too.
Hope you have a wonderful holiday season and I will send some pictures of Marcee once her hair grows some more so you can see what a doll she is outside (you already know how precious she is inside). She is such a huge blessing to my husband and I. She makes us laugh every day and of course she is spoiled rotten by both of us.
Best wishes,
Linda
MAX..AL
Hello...
Max wanted me to check in with you...He's been in his forever home for a year now and he's doing great. He has such a fun little personality. Max certainly knows how to make sure his wishes are known. He's not a barker...until...
Max loves to be in our laps...wherever we are he wants to be. Lizzie (our cat) and he play at "attacking" each other. He and Maverick our other dog look out for each other...both are older dogs. They are SO cute walking around the yard together. I attached a picture of them asleep on the floor together.
Thanks again for rescuing him...he is such a blessing and has enriched our lives more than we could have imagined. We love him dearly!!
We can't figure out how to update him on the website, so we wanted to let you know that he is well and a very important part of our family.
THANK YOU!
Sheila & Michael G.
