BIO:

Maggie is a beautiful and sweet little 8 year old girl that has plenty of energy and spring left in her step.  She will play fetch with you for as long as you will throw the ball and a stuffed toy is no match for her!  She loves to run up and down the hall chasing her 2 YO foster sister and gives her a run for her money every time.  Maggie happily greets us when we come home and tells us how much she missed us until we stop what we’re doing to get our hello kisses.  She likes being close to you but is not a needy girl and is just fine sitting on the couch by herself if your lap is occupied.  She loves children and hasn't met a pup yet that she didn't get along with.

So if you're looking for a laid back sweetheart of a girl who still loves to romp and play then look no further because Maggie is the girl for you!

Please consider giving Maggie the forever home she deserves!! You won't be sorry you gave her a chance!!

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
