Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Dutchess #2...NC
Dutchess #2...NC

Dutchess is doing great! She and Romeo (our 15 y/o Dixie) have become best buddies. She can't wait for my arrival after work and enjoys belly rubs. I'll send you some pics ... it's too cute! Mike & Elaine

Delilah

Delilah is doing great! I can't even imagine life without her now. She is one of the most bravest dogs I have ever seen and being blind you would never know it. She knows her way around the house now and even the back yard. She is such a cuddle bug and sleeps with me every night. She really did good from the very beginning and we bonded quickly. She loves my daughter too. I'm attaching some photos. The one where she is drinking out of my cup - I had left the room for 2 minutes and had actually put her on the floor when I got up and when I came back - there she was drinking out of my soda! I've also caught her standing on the back of the couch and had to run and get her down. I think she could definitely be a circus dog! LOL.

Daisy #12...MD
Daisy #12...MD

Daisy has found her forever home, for sure. She is a loving and sweet girl. She likes to look out dad's front window and watch the neighbor kids and bark. She is a great match for dad and Jenny, dad's other hotdog. Everyone who visits dad loves Daisy. Thank you for checking in to see how Ms Daisy is doing.......she is a great little dpg, I cant imgaine anyone not wanting to give a good, warm and loving home to these little dogs.

Dixie #6...LA

I am so glad to give you an update and photos of my sweet Dixie. From the moment I sat down in my car with her the day we picked her up she started giving me kisses. (Photo to follow). She loves everyone that has been over to welcome her to the family but she knows I am her Mama. She sleeps next to me every night usually touching my body which I love but if I get hot and move her over a little she will stay there. Her favorite thing to do is lay in my lap and get belly rubs, back rubs, neck rubs, head rubs and a combination of all in some form. If I try to hide my hands under her blanket, she will paw the blanket to find my hand for more rubs. But when I tell her enough she will gently put her head down and enjoy a little nap right in my arms. For those people who are on the fence about adopting, I say go for it. Dixie has been so easy to bring in the family at three years of age because she is house trained, she is out of the puppy stage (chew up everything), she can walk on a leash, and she is just a good pet. (She is also crate trained but she does not need that anymore.). I like to think I am giving her a better life but it's like my 28 year old daughter said, "Mom, who rescued who". She is my constant companion and keeps me company 24/7. I already cannot imagine my life without her! Thank you so much for sharing with all of AADR about my Dixie. Also, I want to thank everyone involved in AADR for their selfless work to rescue other families like me who think they are rescuing a pet. Without each one of you, I would not have been rescued by the sweet little 11 lb. fur baby! Penny

Daisy #11..AL

Angie, we absolutely adore this sweet baby girl. She has filled an emptiness in our hearts and our home after we lost our baby of 12 years. She has adjusted very well and is spoiled rotten...just like we like them. Here is a pic of me and sweet Daisy.
