BIO

Hi my name is Dixie and I came from KY when the owner couldn’t care for me any longer so I came down to TN to get all vetted and get a dental(I lost two teeth) now I’m in SC where I’m the queen of the south and the heart of Dixie!

I’m a very sweet girl and love to give sugar and cuddles. My one wish is to have my very own forever family for Christmas, is that too much to ask?

As you can see from the bio above I’m just about perfect, I walk great on a leash, go outside to potty if you let me out but I need a fenced in yard and time to cuddle with me. If you can give me those things I’d like to talk to you, please e mail my foster mom so we can get to know each other better I’m sure when you find out how sweet and lovable I am you will want to adopt ME!

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
