Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Danny number 2.....GA
It’s hard to believe we’ve had our babies 8 months! They have acclimated well and enjoy playing with each other. They now chase each other around the house, barking playfully - it’s really funny when they tug on each other’s ears or tail to see if they can provoke the other to a game of hide-n-seek under the bed!
As you can see, they’ve become water-babies and love to drive the boat or swim in the lake (actually they like the boat better!) And they both love rolling in the sand - they only get to do that right before bath time. They still enjoy making new friends at the dog park - love the picture of the great dane with Danny! As you can
see, we are really enjoying our forever-dogs!
Hope you are all doing well! Thanks again for your part in bringing us Danny and Shadow! As you can imagine, they are a little spoiled - guess we’re doing our job!

CHA-CHA ... TN
Cha-Cha is officially a spoiled princess with her sister! She walks almost daily, if it’s cold I carry her in a blanket while we walk her sister. If it’s warm she likes to walk. She will sit outside with us but I worry about her belly and the sun so I create a shade spot for her and her sister next to me on our lounger in the back yard. She loves to chase the squeaky ball toy outside. But after 3 or 4 times she would prefer I stop throwing it. We have been to the vet to have her urine tested, she was going potty in the house on the bedding and it concerned me she may have a infection, but she doesn’t. She does have very swollen glands but filled with saliva so not sure why. She goes in June for a shot, I may have her blood work then although he doesn’t feel she needs it until August because she is doing so well. But she cries to eat a lot. She will do this for hours in the night. This could be due to her being a dachshund too.. They are a hungry breed... But we keep her on her diet. She has gotten veggies added for treats, but I cook them as she doesn’t have many teeth. It just worries me as she seems to be doing it more. But she is not drinking a lot more so hopefully the eating is not due to Cushings. Hoping it’s just her getting used to being here and of course knowing she is a princess and should get what she wants when she wants it. I did buy some squeakers to replace the ones she was breaking instead of buying new toys all the time, much cheaper. Her sister loves her to the point of giving her a little bath on the face. She has adjusted to the schedule and as long as I stick to it with her she does very well. When I leave they get a small treat of their food so they know I am leaving. She recognizes this and doesn’t cry when I leave any more. She is gaining some muscle tone back which we are very happy to see.
We absolutely love and adore her!
Momo...VA
I wanted to share my Mo-Mo's story. We adopted him through AADR on September 22, 2014. He is the light of our lives and has been a faithful companion for our older dog left behind when our Airedale passed away at the age of 11. Last year we adopted a companion for Mo through In His Hands Small Animal Rescue due to the recommendation of AADR. Thank you so much AADR!
Sincerely,
Keith and Jan
Groucho Marx...ME
Groucho Max was adopted by Sonia June 2014 and here is what she has to say: He's a pure joy. He looks forward to our daily walk followed by a rest on the porch. I can't understand why he was in rescue and I love my boy. Have a good day
Callie number 2 .....TN
Good morning! The puppies are doing amazingly well - surpassing all of our expectations! Crate trained, puppy pad trained, sleeping through the night, and working on outdoor training! They're just perfect! We've named them Stella & Hank. We already had a Callie in the family so we knew we were going to have to change them. Anyway, here are some cute pictures for you! Hope you are doing well! Thanks for taking such good care of them for us! Helen
