Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Baxter number 4....NJ

Just sending some pictures to let you know how Ace (formerly Baxter) is doing. As you can see we love him. Nala our golden, has a new best friend. He is such a love bug. Mr. Man is fitting right in. We taught him to sit, wait (which he only waits for a second) and speak. He even goes potty when we tell him to. He's so smart. Thank you. Becky

Bear....NJ

Bear is doing great.  We just got back from our first checkup with our Vet.
Vet reviewed medical info provided to us by fosters.  She said he looks to be in good health.

He is very active.

Lucie....MS

Lucie is a joy every day.  She's sweet, loving, and as stubborn a dachshund as I have ever seen.  Love her to death.  Here's some recent pictures.  We have had snow this week and she loves to play in it, but unfortunately I'm not able to handle her on a leash and the camera.  Will continue to try or get someone else to film her.  She's so rambunctious I don't want her to her get loose.

We visited the vet on 2/10, and he found her to be as AADR had listed (in fine shape).

Thanks for all that AADR does each and every day for dachshunds.

Hampton....GA

He is doing great. We have changed his name to Samson and he responds well to it. He still is all about kissing and loves to bite my nose. His brother Oliver is teaching him how to play and even howl at emergency test sirens. We could not have asked for a more loving, funny and down right adorable guy. Thanks again for helping us bring him home, Colin

Sweetie....OH
Sweetie....OH

Sweetie is doing great, adjusting well to her new brother & sister and to her forever home! She is so precious and I love her so much already. She loves to sit with me on the couch to watch TV, and the four of us (Madison, Jefferson, Sweetie & me) all sleep together at night(she loves the electric blanket too)! I understand that she originally was rescued from Alabama(?), so I am sure she wishes she had been adopted in Florida, instead of Ohio, as our windchill is to be below zero. She has had her visit to the Vet where it was discovered that one of her dental flaps has come open, so a surgery will be scheduled to fix the flap. Poor little girl can't catch a break! Thank you so much AADR for allowing me to adopt this adorable "little old lady", and may you all be richly blessed in your efforts to save this wonderful breed!!!
