Let me introduce myself, my name is Lucie. First off I would like to give a big Thank You to AADR for rescuing me from the Athens Dog Pound (Athens, AL). My owners when they moved just abandoned me and the landlord took me to the doggie pound. That was not a very nice place I am here to tell you, but now I am in a very nice foster home waiting anxiously for my very own furever home.
Now let me tell you a little about myself. I am housebroken, crate trained, lease trained and have no food aggressions. Foster mommy is working on some commands with me and these I will get the hang of soon. Foster mommy say that I am a very smart girl and that I catch on really fast. What more could a person ask for. I love playing with my foster sisters and would really love a forever home that had another doggie for me to pal around with. I am still learning how to play with the doggie toys, those I do not have much interest in. I love to snuggle on the couch under a blankie with my foster sisters or lay in a lap if one is available. I am one of the bigger doxie’s so it would be great if there were children in the home for me to play with. A fenced in yard would be nice also so that I would be able explore around the yard and chase the birds and squirrels.
Please, please consider me for your next furbaby. I promise to give lots of doggie kisses and love you forever.
More about Lucie....MS
Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
