Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

RUBY4
Little Bit (formerly named Ruby) came from a puppy mill and knew nothing but fear. She did not know how to show emotion (a tail wag, physical touch, a kiss, a bark) and she felt safest in the dark and hidden. She exhibited behavorial issues such as running in circles and extreme fear of door ways. many people would think it was too late for Little bit..but not AADR and not the Chambers family. After 4 months in foster care and after 15 applications, Little Bit found her forever home with the Chambers and now it has been 2 years and she has come a long, long way.
Here is their most recent update:
I was looking through some photos of our Doxies and it reminded me that it is almost the 2 year anniversary of our adoption of Lil Bit. That was also our first experience in Dachshund rescue. How blessed we are to have gotten Lil Bit and how blessed she was to have you as a foster Mom after the horrible world she endured at the puppy mill.
Our doxies bring us joy every day with their unique personalities. Each totally different in looks and behaviors, but filled with love they show us.
Lil Bit is happiest when Jody and I are both todether sitting on the sofa or sitting up in Bed. She scoots right in beside us and feels so secure. She now engages with Gus and Rudi in the back yard. She loves treats and can't wait to travel. She and Rudy won first prize in the PetSmart Halloween costume contest. She had her photo posted there for two weeks.
I include a photo of Gus in all of my training events, and have become the "Dachshund" lady. It amazes me how many people come up to me and tell me their dachshund stories, and ask about our doxies as if they are celebrities.
I know I sound repetitive, but I can't thank you enough for sharing your home with Lil Bit and being the person that helped us become supporters of dachshund rescue..
LB means so much to us. She is very attached to Gus and tries to mimick some of the playful behavior she sees Rudi doing.
We are planning to get their photos with Santa soon, and I will send you a digital copy.
Happy Thanksgiving from
Debbie, Jody, Gus, Lil Bit and Rudi Roo,
