Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

She is doing great! She got some misinformation somehow that it was OK to poop in the dining room. I started her and Oscar (the little boy I adopted a few weeks before Tandy from AADR(now Kandy Kane, because she is so sweet) on a schedule. I am up at 6:30 or so, I feed them then we immediately go for a long walk. Whenever she poops or pees on the walk she gets a treat (actually it is just a piece of kibble from her Hill’s Science Diet W/D food and is taken from the amount I usually feed her). I take them out again around 10 or so and then again after their evening meal with the same routine. For the past 4 or 5 weeks she has not pooped in the house at all. She sleeps right next to me under the covers and Oscar sleeps in his bed on top of the covers. They play and play and when I throw the ball, I never know who is going to bring it back. I recently bought a figurine from Hot Diggity Dogs of a little dachshund in a red and white striped candy cane. It sits on my desk at work to remind me of my sweet girl. Thanks, AADR for these sweet dogs. Kandy is the 4th dog I have adopted in the past 10 years. Lyn
