BIO:

Tandy was turned over to rescue when her original family couldn’t housebreak her. Tandy is still working on getting potty trained so her new family will need to continue to work with her.

Tandy's hobbies include going on walks, hanging out at the dog park, and snuggling with her foster parents and foster brothers.

Tandy gets along great with other small dogs (currently has a dachshund/chihuahua and rat terrier/chihuahua as her foster brothers). Tandy cowards down when big dogs approach her, however with the proper introductions and approach I'm sure she could learn to love big dogs as well. Tandy is such a sweet girl and loves cuddling with anyone who will let her. She loves car rides and gets so excited when she knows we are going somewhere.

Tandy likes sleeping in the bed or her crate and it doesn't make a difference to her one way or the other.

Tandy is an absolute joy to foster!

More about Tandy...FL

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
