SHORTIE aka LUCY

Today is Shortie's (now Lucy) one year gotcha day. Happy Gotcha Day, my sweet, sweet Lucy. It was one year ago today that I took that long awaited drive to meet you and bring you to your forever home. I had not even seen a picture of you, but I knew that you were meant to be mine when I first read your story. How could one not fall in love with the dachsie behind that story??? I did, and so did others. When I applied for your adoption, they told me you were already adopted. Although disappointed, I knew AADR would find you a good home. Then.....several days later, I received an email saying that your adoption fell through and they wanted to know if I was still interested adopting you. Well, the rest is history, and now we're celebrating your first Gotcha Day. Lucy, you are such a sweet little girl. You are ALWAYS so happy and so content. Even though you have no teeth and are a bit older than your fur-siblings, you don't let that stop you. You are always ready to play, eat, go to bed, take a nap, whatever, it doesn't matter to you. You are such an easy-going little sweetheart. I am so honored to be your HooMom and your former daddy can rest assured knowing that you are loved very, very much. Thank you, Diane, for all you do for these sweet babies. Sandra Brentwood, TN
