Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Jax...PA
Jax is doing great and Prissy who I rescued last September from AADR is doing great too. I have a total of 4 rescues now and they all get along pretty good. Jax is starting to adjust now at first he took over the house and now he realizes itâs not just his house. He is a very smart and playful dog. He knows all kinds of tricks like play dead, shake, speak, sit, and roll over. We just love this little guy.
June...PA
June, now Lucy, is doing great! She is such an easygoing, lovable dog. She has adjusted well to our home and has formed a good bond with our 5 year old dachshund Roxi. We love her and could not be happier that we found her.
Jillian...NC
Jillian is adjusting great. We can't imagine why anybody would not want her. She is so loving and sweet. Everyone in our family just loves her. It took a little while for Jillian to adjust to my 9 year old son but now they both get along good. Even my 14 year old blind dog use to bark at her but he does not do that anymore. Jillian came to us overweight but she is just one pound from her ideal weight. We didn't think she could run with her weight but now she likes to run during our regular walks. She loves to kiss and roll on her back for belly rubs. We are blessed to have Jillian in our lives.
Thank you.

Jackson #4...AL
Jackson is doing awesome! He fits in well with our other two (Tess (2011) and Basil (2012)). He is still learning to play with them, but they are such rambunctious clowns anyway. He follows us around the house and loves to cuddle up next to me on the couch. He is super. We really appreciate all you do.
Here is a picture from last Sunday when all of them decided to pile up on me for a nap. Basil is the Black and Tan, Tess is the short-red next to Basil, and Jackson is laying on my left.
Janie #2...PA
Hi Angie...thank you for checking in on Janie...she is getting more comfortable with her new life. After a week or so I renamed her "Coco"...she likes her name...Princess Coco Chanel :) She loves playing with Ginger...they're bff's...too cute. She sleeps in the big bed...uses the ramp to get up and down...races into bed with the other three. She has a really good appetite. I've transitioned her to the raw diet I had started my other 3 on and she loves it. When I come home she gets so excited and runs to me shaking her tail and prancing about, along with the rest of the crew...then she'll turn and run away....it's a really healthy beginning though! She lets me pick her up...she rolls on her back on the bed for me to rub her belly...she lets me give her kisses. She's wary of my fiance Fred...even though he is absolutely great with her....brings her food to her wherever she's comfortable....sometimes the girls stay upstairs and watch animal planet on the bed while the boys stay downstairs looking out the window...barking at anything that even looks like it might move...haha. She does sit on the couch by him sometimes...and lay her head on his lap...so she's slooooowly warming up.....we both know it'll take her a long time to really let her guard down after the life she came from...but I truely think she is as happy as she could possibly be at this stage...we'll just keep loving her forever and ever. Thank you all for what you do. I'm grateful to have Janie/Coco in my little family.....she is loved very much. Merry Christmas!!! Sandy
