Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Ginger#6&Coco#5..OH

This picture of Ginger and Coco from their forever home!

Greta #2 & Max #8..FL

We got this picture of Greta and Max in their new home! Looks like these two are living the good life now!

George #3..PA

George is so funny and considering he spent his life in a puppy mill he is very intelligent. He gets into everything so I puppy proofed my house. He is such a cuddle bug he easily adjusted to the "morning kisses" routine we have here. It's like he has lived here forever!! He learned very fast that going for a walk was fun. I think he just enjoys doing what my other two do and follows along.

Gracie 3...Canada

Gracie is doing good, my other 3 doxies have finally accepted her. She is still very skittish, esp around food , so we keep her separated at feeding times. We also are finally enjoying some warmer weather and she loves being outside in the yard...About 10 days ago we were still getting snow , and she hated the cold. She is a bed hog and loves to cuddle up close, and gives lots of kisses, we absolutely adore her ,she is getting all the love and attention she missed all her life. Shes getting better at going for walks on a leash , it helps when there is another dog walking with her, but she tends to stay behind you not sure what shes suppose to do...We live on 2 1/2 acres and have a small fenced yard for them , as we speak we are building a huge fenced in running area , so they can be off leash and explore the grounds, as of now when we take her out of the fenced yard, she needs to be on leash and i can see she wants to run around with the others , so bigger and better things to come for her in the near future...

Gus...MA
Gus...MA

I had sent some photos a few weeks ago to the wonderful AADR team that worked with me. I am so grateful to everyone for making the adoption possible and for connecting me with this amazing, wonderful dog. Gus is settled in quite nicely. He got over his initial jitters, and does not need to be plastered in my lap anymore. His skittishness with men is practically gone, and he adores my husband, sometimes choosing to cuddle Eric over me! I will attach some photos and write when I have more time (at work now). Gus is quite the character, and bring us a lot of joy. Even our big golden retiever Lily (six years old) has gotten soft on him. At first she looked annoyed by his attentions, and now they chase each other around the backyard, and even play tug-o-war together, which is quite amusing, as she is 96 pounds, and he is about 14! I will be in touch and send you a video and more photos. Thank you all for what you do...having him has brought such happiness into our lives. Our daughter Kelsey (21) adores him and cannot wait to get home from school to play with him again. Best regards, Andrea
