Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Cindy #2...SC
Cindy #2...SC

Thank you for inquiring about Cindy. She is doing awesome!! It only took about 4 days for her to adjust to our household and to her new 3 fursiblings and vice versa. We adore her and she has taken her place in our home and in our hearts already. She loves it here with us..........that is very clear and we could not be happier. She is SO loving and easygoing. Thank you for the work y'all do and for saving this precious baby. I have enclosed a few pics. I wanted to send one with all 4 of my dogs together, but that has proven to be quite difficult. I did manage a cute one of Cindy and one of her new sisters. (She now has 2 fur sisters and 1 fur brother). Lol Sandy

Clark...FL

Our buddy Clark in Florida seems to be enjoying himself in his forever home!

Chance #3..PA

Chance wanted to send his love along with a few pictures of his spoiled life with us! We love him so very much! Thank you for all you do to help with fostering and rescue!

Curlie...NY
Curlie...NY

Thank you for reaching out to our family. We have been so impressed with All American Dachshund Rescue - the organization has been great to work with, and genuinely invested in the families and dogs. So glad I found your organization online. Curlie is doing great. He is a wonderful dog ... so loving and sweet. The description of his temperament was spot on. He has had a few accidents in the house, which we weren't expecting, but it's hard to tell if he's marking or nervous or confused, or whatever. We're trying to keep him on a regular schedule, which is helping a lot. Our existing dog Max always goes to the door to let us know if he needs to go out (aside from his scheduled walks in the morning and night) and I guess we assumed Curlie would have a similar approach. Our vet said he was certain Curlie would overcome this and encouraged using lots of positive reinforcement for eliminating outside. We're likewise certain he'll adjust and eliminate outside only with a bit more time. We just weren't used to such a scheduled approach, but a new family member requires a bit of adjustment for everyone, and we're all adjusting fine. Curlie has fallen in love with all of us. Our daughter Karenna has bonded closely with him. Now that she's gone back to school after the holidays, he's attached himself to me. But he truly loves us all, and we love him. Our dog Max has also accepted Curlie (we were most worried about Max, but knew he would come around). They love to play fetch together, walk together and have even snuggled up close to each other on a few occasions, so they're getting along just fine. Thanks again for inquiring about Curlie. We can't imagine being without him. Kindly, Melissa
