Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Andy...SC

Andy's (Now Benny) home sent us these pictures. If a picture can say a thousand words, check out the name tag that Benny is wearing. He has a home and a name!

Amos...IL

Amos is doing well, we have renamed him Bob Wiley. He is still pretty nervous around men. I'm thinking that he must have been abused by men in the puppy mill. He is now on a schedule with potty training, eating and sleeping. We are being very patient with him. We are trying to develop a trusting relationship all around and then he will be enrolled in obedience training. -- Tricia

Angel #11...VA
Angel #11...VA

We actually adopted both Angel & Breeze. We have altered their names slightly - Angell and Breezie. They are doing wonderful; very happy and healthy. They had their first vet visit and came out with clean bills of health. They are now established with our vet and both have started on their heartworm preventive. They are also both enrolled in Trupanion Health Insurance plans. We are feeding them "Blue Buffalo" (puppy & adult food) along with some treats here and there. They are not morning babies - they will get up and go out to potty, then right back to bed. They prefer to eat later in the morning (Smile). They are both so playful and happy, such cuddlebugs. We believe they know they are in their forever home. They love to run and play in the house and the back yard. We have been trying to socialize them, more so Breezie, as often as we can to help her overcome her skittishness and fear of people. It will take time, but I think she will get there. We will be happy to send you some photos of both the girls. They are so wonderful and we are so grateful for AADR for rescuing them and allowing us to adopt them.

Abby #2...GA

Hello, she is doing SOOOOOO GREAT! I will attach a recent photo (she shares my pillow) and is attached to my ankle! I love her so much! Katie
