Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Scooter #4...NJ
Scooter has became a big part of our family. Thank you everyone for making us realize that the food would not be an issue. Once the girls found out they could eat Scooter's food they went back to eating their own. Our vet gave us the script to buy the food and we ended up buying it at the vets because it is no more expensive there.
From the time she wakes up in the morning till we tuck her in at night she is so happy. I caught her last week going from the toy box at one side of the room, taking out a toy and putting it in the middle of the floor and then going to the toy box on the other side of the room and doing the same thing. She did that a few times. Wish I could teach her to pick them up.
She is no longer the mommys girl she was when we first got her. She loves her daddy just as much and will snuggle with both of us. She has picked where she wants to sleep at night as she thinks she is a big girl. I have a padded bench at the foot of my bed that I fold my comforter over at night. She made her own little bed there. She has a bolster pillow at the edge so she doesn't fall out and has made her own little burrow. We tuck her in and kiss her good night. Of course she is in the big bed for morning kisses and belly rubs.
Ondrea she still plays with that what ever it is toy you sent with her. We call it grrrl.
I could talk for hours about Scooter. Love our girl
Snooki aka Lady in TN
She is doing well. Still extrememly shy, but cuddles with me most of the night. Walks are her favorite thing - she really perks up and makes little noises as we walk. We go for 3 -4 1/2 mile walks a day.
Everyone that meets her comments on what a beautiful Lady she is. We are now calling her Lady. I want everyone who meets her to know how she expects to be treated. Her favorite "hide-out" is the loft where my office is. She loves being able to look down on activity in the family room and I have several pictures with her on the stairs and looking down.
Thank you for the wonderful work you all do to rescue these beautiful folks.

Sparky...NY
Sparky looks like he is anticipating a treat in his new home!!
Shelly #2...MI
Shelly is doing great! She has filled out a bit, loves going for walks and going to local dog parks to visit with other dogs. She also has 'playdates' with another doxie named Carly.
She is still learning things. We have her going to obedience classes to learn some basic commands. I have her on a routine as far as going potty outside but am trying to teach her to let me know when she has to go. If we have a winter as terrible as last year she won't be able to stay outside very long at all. I think she came from Tennessee so she probably hasn't experienced a very cold winter before.
She is a very sweet pup and loves her new family and we love her. I couldn't imagine life without her now.

Sammy#4 & Charlie#11
I actually adopted Sammy and Charlie and they are doing fabulously! They have adjusted so well and are just a joy! Sammy and Charlie are the new "stars" in my neighborhood and everyone loves them.
I am so happy we all found each other. Everyone asks where I got them so AADR is getting some awesome press in Tampa!
Thank you for connecting me with these wonderful dachshunds. We are a happy family!!!!
