Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Bentley...VA

we adopted both brothers and they have very quickly won over our hearts and become part of our family. We are so very thankful to all the wonderful volunteers that helped to make it possible for AJ and Bentley to join our family. They have adjusted very well to their new family and we can not imagine what we did before they came into our lives as they make us laugh and bring us great joy. We are so happy we choose to rescue these two amazing boys. Thank you again.

Boone....KY

Arlo ('Boone') is adjusting very well. He had a rough start with the long travels, the neuter, and the final trip to Kentucky. He was exhausted! He got home Friday evening and I think he finally got off of the couch around Sunday afternoon. Lol. His incisions have healed nicely and he and his brother, Willie, are still in the 'getting to know you' stage but they're doing great. He's a fantastic dog, and fits in very well with our family. He loves to cuddle and bury himself under the blanket when sleeping. He enjoys lounging in his own lounging chair under the umbrella out by the pool. We are so very fortunate to have been chosen to be Arlo's family. He has already stolen our hearts....I think even Willies. A simple 'thank you' will never be enough.

Bella #10 & Bo#5..VA

Bella was actually adopted along with her brother, Bo and they are Chiweenies. We love them so much! They are doing great! Just took them to the vet today for a lyme disease booster shot and they weigh in at 16.4 lb (Bo) and 12.6 lb (Bella). When they came to us in April they were 7 and 4 pounds. Here is the latest picture of them

Bama Lou...AL

Bama Lou is adjusting to her forever home beautifully. She is so smart, sweet, and full of spunk. She has the household routine down, is responding well to leash and house training, and she gets along great with our other fur babies (even our old-lady cat). The vet says she is in great shape. She still tends to be tentative around men, so Brandon is working on that with her. She is definitely a Mama's girl, and that's ok by me! We're making good progress and just being patient and consistent with positive reinforcements. She has brought such joy and laughter to our house and is a great companion for our older rescue fur baby, Hollie. We are thrilled to have another precious, rescue baby in our lives and proud to help this great organization. Thank you for checking in with us and keep up the great work for these dachsies! I attached one of our favorite pics of her. Have a great day! Stacy

BEAN..MI
BEAN..MI

WE love our little beannie she is so energetic, cute and so much fun. Our rescue dog Saddie and little bean get along famously. It is so funny to watch them play together. A totally success story. We will send you picture at a later date. Thanks so much, Brooke
