WHAT A CUTIE THIS ONE IS....SHE LOOKS JUST LIKE A WIRE DACHSHUND...LOVES TO EAT...NO FREE FEEDING FOR HER. YOU WANT A HAPPY HAPPY DOG THIS IS THE GIRL FOR YOU.......TOO TOO SWEET!!

VERDIE was surrendered by a breeder along with ESTELLE. VERDIE is just the sweetest little girl. Needs to loose about 2 lbs but you couldn't ask for a better little girl. She is shy at first but does warm up. Would need to be with another dog to know how to be a pet. Loves to sleep with another dog in the doggie beds. Loves to be outside and run in the grass and just sun herself in the yard. If you can get her out she will potty outside. but will also potty in the house if you don't get them out. She doesn't know how to ask you or tell you when she has to go but as much as she loves food she is trainable. If you've always wanted a Dorkie here is your chance. She may have to stay on Thyroid meds for the rest of her life they did test her and it was low. This med is very inexpensive. This is one sweet girl and you for sure don't want to miss out on her.
WE WILL NOT SHIP OUR DOGS CARGO, TOO MANY HORROR TALES HAVE HAPPENED FOR US TO FEEL COMFORTABLE DOING THIS. IF WE CAN'T TRANSPORT BY LAND THEN YOU'LL HAVE TO FLY TO THE CITY THAT THE DOG IS BEING FOSTERED IN TO GET HIM/HER. Out of state and Canadian adoptions are welcome. We have several transporters that for a fee will bring the dog as close to you as possible up the Eastern seaboard or down to FLORDIA. A home visit is required on all adoptions. We also micro chip all our dogs and must pass the cost on to the adopter. It is only $10.00. Thank you for your interest in a rescue. To fill out an application for this dog please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an app. we will be in touch shortly to do a phone interview. It is also best to have a dog in mind that you would like to adopt or if you don't please let us know that you'd like a dog that best fits your lifestyle. Keep in mind that we are all volunteers and have other obligations so please let your references and vet know that we will be calling to vai all info that you put on your application. If you use two vets then please let us know that so we get all info on your dog possible to determine if you are a suitable home for our dog. If you do not let us know these things this maybe the factor that you will be turned down to adopt one of our dogs.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
