BIO:  Hi, I’m Kelsey and my owner/breeder surrendered me to AADR to help me find a great forever home.  I am shy, that’s why she wanted them to find me a home because she knew they’d be able to find that perfect home.

As for potty training, I do great with a doggie door.  However, I would probably need some help and patience without one.  I don’t know how to tell you that I have to go out yet.

I will need some work with walking on a leash and for that reason a fenced yard is preferred.  Sorry, no younger kids for me ‘cause I’m on the timid side and them running and loud voices would scare me too much and make me nervous.  I was really nervous when I first came to my foster home, but I’m getting better now.

My foster mom tells me what a beautiful and sweet girl I am!  I hope you will be the one to give me a forever home where I can gain confidence and feel loved and secure.  If you are interested in adopting me, please contact my foster mom Mary Anne at maryanne70@gmail.com or aadrpresident@gmail.com.

Good with Dogs, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
