DACHSHUND.................................PURE TWEENIE COAT...............................................SMOOTH COLOR........................................... BLACK & TAN AGE.................................................7+ YRS WEIGHT..........................................15 LBS ADOPTION FEE............................150.00+10.00 chip fee contact nashcat2@bellsouth.net Zippy loves anyone that loves her including young children!! ZIPPY HAS BEEN IN FOSTER TOO LONG AND NEEDS TO GO TO A FOREVER HOME SO WE HAVE DROPPED HER ADOPTION FEE IN HOPES THAT HELPS HER FIND HER FOREVER HOME. YOU WILL STILL NEED TO FILL OUT AN APP AND A HOMEVISIT IS REQUIRED!! ZIPPY'S TEETH PROBLEM IS ALL FIXED AND SHE'S READY TO GO TO HER NEW HOME. IF YOU WANT A LAP WARMER AND A DOG THAT WON'T LET YOU OUR OF HER SIGHT THEN ZIPPY IS THE ONE FOR YOU!! ZIPPY is having some issues with her teeth....she had a small stick stuck up in her gum where a tooth went and it got infected and now we are trying to get that healed(it was removed when she had a dental) and may have to have gum surgery. Right now she is too thin to go to a new home and we also think she had to fight for her food cause she wolfs it down and chokes herself.....poor baby we are hoping some day all her past will be forgotten by her....it's very clear the longer we have her the more neglected she was Poor Zippy, left at the vet's office for a month cause her family probably didn't want to pay for her heartworm treatment. Yes she was heartworm positive but the vet clinic called us and we came and got Zippy and boy was she happy to be out of there. She has now had her heartworm treatment, dental, all her shots including bordetella and rabies and she's ready to go to her new home and this time to one that won't dump her at the vet's and forget about her!! Zippy is very very happy and gets along with all dogs and we think probably cats. She's not shy at all but very out going. She does appear to be house trained and loves to ride in the car and is leash trained. If you'd like to give Zippy a forever home please go to www.ssdr.org and fill out an online adoption application and please put her name on it cause we don't want to miss any chance to find her the kind of home she deserves. Remember out of state and country adoption are welcome and a home visit is required. If you have any further questions please e mail foster mom at address listed above and she'll be happy to discuss Zippy with you.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
