BIO:   Pebbles came from North Carolina when her owner had to move and could not take her dogs with her. Pebbles was scared when she first came to the rescue, but within a day, she was happy and running around with her tail up, one happy little girl. When she knows you, she is happy to greet you as you come in the door with her tail wagging. It will take a little time for her to warm up to strangers.

Right now, we are feeding her food without chicken or chicken by-products because we think she may have a food allergy to chicken. That is the only issue we see with this sweet girl. Oh, and she must have another young, small, playful dog to play with because she LOVES to play.

Our must-haves for beautiful Pebbles include:

• A fenced yard
• Someone who could be home a lot would be good for her; no more than 4-6 hours for the new owner to be gone
• No apartments, high-rises, or condos (anything with shared walls) for possible barking and bothering the neighbors
• Needs to be the only dog because she likes all the attention

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund’s back or get bitten.

If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. 

There will be an additional $60 fee added for a required Health Certificate if traveling out of the state in which they are being fostered. 

We will not adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states.  If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures.
