BIO (7/16/2019): Are you looking for a tiny bundle of sweetness? Here she is! Her name is Zaida. This precious little girl was surrendered with two other doxies when her mom realized that having 8 dogs was a little too much to handle! She has been in her foster home less than 48 hours, but her foster mom is already impressed with Zaida’s personality... a true sweetheart, and smart, too!
Zaida is getting along great with all the dogs in her foster home (1 male and 3 females). She paid no attention to the 3 cats the first evening she came into rescue either. This little girl is not going to be in rescue long. She is soooooo adoptable and adorable!
Since Zaida is young, we’d like her to have a fenced yard. She does walk beautifully on leash if you want to take her on walks though. Foster mom can’t say enough great things about Zaida. Once you meet her, you’ll totally understand! AADR is looking for a family in the South to adopt Zaida - no exceptions. Once you fill out an application, you are welcome to contact Zaida’s foster mom at meg1709@comcast.net.

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
