Happy Tales
Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...
Harley's Brave Journey Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Larry.....AL
OMG!! Has it only been 2 weeks?! We and Larry are doing great. He is 100% puppy, and he has been frustrating at times, but he is also 100% love and we love him so much already. We have been going to puppy training at a local dog training facility for the past 3 Sundays where he is learning socialization skills and gets to play with other puppies. It has been excellent. He has learned to sit, and we are working on stay. He just loves being with me and my husband too much and wants to play that the staying when we walk backwards does not make sense to him. But we are working on it!!
We are going to put him in training at the beginning of the year so that he will continue to grow and be socialized. We have had some play dates after work with Lisa Townsend (who did my home visit and lives a street over from me) and her 2 dachshunds plus her foster Oktober that just left on Saturday. So much fun. I have been so thankful for her as contact both for Larry and for me. We are working on leash training and take walks around our neighborhood. He loves the smells. He wants to play so badly with his 2 older cat sisters, but they do not have time for his silly puppy games. He gives them a wide berth when moving around them, and his dad and I are thankful for that.
Larry has been such a blessing for us. We are so thankful for your organization letting us adopt him. He has allowed us to work on our patience (haha!) and has been the cuddliest bed buddy. I will attach pictures (you would think I was crazy by how many I have on my phone already but he is the cutest).
