Happy Tales

Every one of these Dachshunds has been rescued by an angel...

Harley's Brave Journey   Harley's Story is a great inspiration to AADR because it shows that no matter how desperate the situation, saving one life makes the ultimate difference. DeeAnn, Harley's foster mom, has included her personal account with Harley's amazing story and where he is now.Harley was found homeless and sick. He only had a 50% chance of survival. Now he is living a life of true happiness and contentment. Read More...

Flicker..PA

Flicker's Former foster parents forwarded us this email about her (now known as Lacey)" Lacey is doing great. She is such a spitfire and a big boldy that we love to pieces. The picture is of her from back in February when she was spayed (notice her booboo paw where she had her intravenous. She loves playing with my parents’ dog (Lucky) who is about 6 months older than her. She gets ssssooooo excited when either I or my husband comes home from work and usually squizzles on the floor. She is in her chewing stage (for which we try to keep rawhide bones around for) and has chewed on wooden things in the house, sticks in the yard, etc. We scold her when she gets bold like that but it’s pretty difficult to stay mad at her when she jumps on your lap and starts kissing your face to say she’s sorry. She is definitely the highlight of a day when work has been a bad day. She enjoys tormenting her kitty brother (who is 10 yrs old and just likes to lounge around). In fact, she has pretty much ripped to shreds all his kitty toys. I call it payback for when the kitty tormented our beagle before she passed away. But for the most part, they get along good too. We hope her birth brother’s parents are as happy with him as we are with her (she sends a “Woof, woof” his way). Thanks again for being great foster parents, Faith & Scot H.
