Reids Molly...OH

This is our Molly! She has been " OUR MOLLY" for 17 days now..We first met Molly on a transport back in Dec. We were so excited to be a part of getting this sweet little face to her forever home. We became very attached to Molly during this transport and found ourselves very jealous of her new family. We knew they were getting a true gem. At one point my husband and I joked about dog knapping..isnt that terrible..LOL. We watched for every update on the days leading up to the transport and during. Molly was described and being very shy and scared. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE. AS soon as we picked up Molly she rolled over for a belly rub and covered me in some of the stinkiest doggie kisses I have ever had. ( IT WAS TERRIBLE) But I was so happy she was not scared I welcomed each stinky kiss and rubbed her belly for the next 3 hours. By the time the hand off came, I just felt sick.. I knew she was going to get her forever home, but I so wanted it to be me. At one point she even tried to get back in my car ( punch to the gut). When we returned home later that evening, I again checked the updates to make sure Molly made it home. She had! But it said " Thank you for all of your help getting Molly to her new foster home". I clearly missed something! Silly as it sounds I started crying and in a matter of seconds was on the phone putting my application in to bring her home. 3 weeks later we did. It was the happiest 5 hour drive. During our 3 weeks apart we learned that Molly was rescued 3 years ago from a Puppy Mill and adopted. My first question of course was WHY would someone adopt her and then send her back? She had to have terrible behavioral issues. No, not the case. She was sent back because she was still having accidents in the house. ( UH..? Dachshund?) We also learned that in those 3 years Molly was never vetted properly..her shots were behind, and worst of all..her teeth. Before we could pick Molly up she had to have surgery to have 9 teeth removed. Gee...do you think that is why her breath was so horrible? I am happy to report that today Molly's bad breath is gone! She has brought so much joy to this family, but most of all me. She is my buddy and goes with me just about everywhere I go. She sleeps in my bed and insists on having her belly rubbed multiple times a day..we love it! Her crate is still in the back of my mini van from the day we picked her up. It has never been used here and she is doing wonderful going out to use the potty. Yes, she has had accidents but ya know what? Its the rain! She will not go out if it is wet.. I am thinking Molly needs a raincoat and some snazzy boots! Thank you A.A.D.R for everything you do and for our Molly..we could not imagine our home without her.
