Rankin...PA

Thank you for checking in. Rankin has a new name...Ridley. He is an absolute doll and definitely in his forever home. He travels with us a lot between our homes in Philadelphia and Connecticut. He's gotten used to walks in the city with so many sites and sounds. Between the other dogs being walked, the horses pulling carriages full of tourists and the noisy cars, he's quite comfortable. He also loves to run and play in our fenced in yard in CT and walk along the beach. Our veterinarian said that Ridley had to develop muscle in his hind legs which explains the wiggle in his walk. He suspected that he wasn't allowed to roam freely before he was rescued by AADR, but now he's quite strong. Not much of a jumper so he barks when he wants to get on the sofa or taken down from the sofa. This is good, because he'll never hurt himself jumping off and on furniture. He's still a bit shy with strangers and definitely a mama's boy even though he's home with his dad all day long. My husband says that Ridley stands in our foyer in complete darkness when it's time for me to come home. He just stands there facing the door waiting for me to arrive. You can imagine the greeting I get when I come home! Such a joy. We've told many people about AADR and have encouraged them to adopt rather than buy. Our aunt will be applying soon as one of her Schnauzers has cancer and she can't bear to have just one dog. Even our veterinarian was amazed that we could find such a special dog as our Ridley. An occasional accident, but that's usually when we didn't pick up on his signal to take him out.
