BIO: Sweet Lulu came from a farm where she spent her entire life outside along with 20 other dogs. Living inside and getting lots of love is new to her but you’d never know because she is house trained and loves her crate. We were going to let her sleep with us in the big bed but she would have none of it. She went right in her foster brother’s crate and wouldn’t come out so we just let her stay. Therefore, if you have a problem with crating, Lulu may not be for you.

She is getting along great with her foster brother and sister and even has her foster brother romping and playing (he rarely does this!). She loves to give kisses but will mind you if you tell her to settle down. She is not timid but not over bearing either. Just a perfect temperament! She loves toys and balls and will chase after whatever you throw but the concept of bringing it back is still a little foreign to her.

Since Lulu is accustomed to having other dogs around to play with, it’s probably best if she goes to a home with another dog. A fenced backyard is not necessary as long as she is walked/exercised regularly.

So if you’re looking for the sweetest, most lovable girl ever, you can stop looking because Lulu is the one for you!!

Good with Dogs

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
