BEING FOSTERED IN B'HAM, AL
Little Bit (L.B) is a 5 year old standard smooth, red dachshund. He is a smaller standard, however, weighing only 20 pounds. His previous owner left him at a shelter in Scottsboro, AL before being rescued by AADR. He was obviously well cared for, however, and was clearly not harmed or abused in any way. He is the most loving, sweet hearted dog ever! He is very playful despite being a grown adult and loves to play with both humans and other dogs. He gets along well with all dogs he has met and loves to meet new people. He would be great around children and would be a very loyal dog to a family. He has good manners and will come when he's called. He is crate trained and house trained to a doggie door. He is almost completely trained without a doggie door as well. Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.
More about LB/Lil Bit...AZ
Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
