BIO:

Hi, our names are Thelma and Louise and we are a mother and daughter bonded pair! First off we would like to thank AADR for rescuing us from the shelter in Hartsville, TN. We were dropped off by a couple that found us roaming the street as strays. We cannot figure out why anyone would just throw us away like yesterday’s garbage. We both are completely housebroken, leash trained and crate trained. When foster mommy puts a pee pad down for us to use during the day while she is at work, we do not even need to use it. We know the basic commands sit, stay and come. We have also learned that when foster mommy says time for bed that we are to go get in our crate. It helps that we are given a small treat, we do like our treats! We were underweight when we were rescued but foster mommy has gotten a little weight on us. We still need to gain another half a pound and we should be at a good weight. We are great lap dogs we love to be on your lap under our blanket if you are sitting on the couch. We also love to give lots of doggie kisses!

We are looking for our furever home and foster mommy tells us that we would make a great addition to any home. If you have any questions about us, please contact our foster mommy and she will be glad to answer all your questions. If you are interested in us, please go on line to All American Dachshund Rescue and put in an application for us. We promise to love you unconditionally and give lots of doggie kisses!

More about Thelma and Louise.....FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
