BIO:
Have you looked up the word HAPPY in the dictionary lately? Well, for sure Peggy’s picture must be there! After a long day of transport from TN to FL (over 14 hours), she came out of her crate all smiles .... with lots of kisses and her tail wagging ... and she hasn’t stopped since! What a JOY she is to foster! There have been one or two accidents since she and my other foster arrived, but honestly, I can’t tell you who ... Peggy, Blaze, or even one of my own doxies could have had that slip-up! I will tell you that Peggy can hold “it” for hours and has been terrific about peeing and pooping in the fenced-in yard when taken out on a schedule.
When Peggy was surrendered with her sister, AADR was told they were 7 years old, and there was no reason to question that age, since Peggy is full of spunk! In fact, her foster mom thought she acted more like a 5-6 year old doxie. What a surprise to discover her birthday in her previous vet records ... she’ll be 9 on January 1, 2016. No way!!! LOL
Peggy loves, loves, loves to be with her human! She will gladly spend all day sitting in your lap, sitting next to you on the sofa, sleeping at you feet in the office, or sleeping in the BIG bed with you every night. Peggy will do just fine as an only dog getting all the attention she thinks she deserves! She is doing great with the males and females at her foster home, but she will tell them (with a low growl) to back off if she’s not happy. She would probably not do well in a household with an alpha doxie.
Since Peggy was surrendered for not knowing how to behave around young children (not Peggy’s fault that no one taught her!), she will need a family with older children who know how to respect a dog’s space.
