BIO:
Do you want someone to snuggle with and to love you unconditionally? If so, Diego is perfect for you! This little guy is the biggest lover you will meet: he wants nothing (and I mean nothing) more than to be a lap dog where he can give you tons and tons of kisses. He is an absolute sweetheart that can’t wait to find someone to give all of his love to. He is very much a people dog and loves anyone and everyone. There is no pup more social than Diego!
He is a little shy at first but warms up extremely quickly. I do not anticipate much of an adjustment period with him, so long as he has someone to love and cuddle with. He was playing with my dachshund and cuddling on my lap in under an hour. He does great with other dogs: he is not food aggressive or dominant, though I would say he prefers smaller dogs (like most dachshunds).
Diego is VERY agile, this little guy can jump! Be wary of food/drinks at his level, he is clever! He does well being crated at night (he will get right in if you tell him), and he has picked up the dog door in no time. I would say he is about 80-90% potty trained. He has accidents, but we are working on this. It is almost as if he is too excited to go outside if there is anything going on, so sometimes he needs a little longer outside once the distractions are gone. He’s been getting better the longer I’ve had him and I think with enough consistency and positive reinforcement he will get all the way there.
His future home MUST be accepting of a loving boy, because Diego is nothing if not loving. He will do whatever he can to get your attention and give you kisses.
