BIO:

Hello everyone! I am Apollo, a handsome smooth coat red Dachshund. I ended up with the All American Dachshund Rescue angels because I was taken to a church and put outside the truck I was in. The person who had promised they would love me, who I devoted myself to, just left me. A nice lady picked me up and took me home to her apartment and called the good angels to help me find me a real furever home.

I am about 6-7 years old and I get along great with all the Dachshunds and the fluff balls (you call them kitty cats) in the house. I love walking around with my foster mom on the leash and strolling through the yard and neighborhood. I also got to go to Foster Mom’s “work” and had a blast meeting the new people, they all gave me treats and pets! I am a perfect boy riding in the car and enjoy going on rides with my foster mom.

My favorite place to be is cuddled up next to my foster mom or under the blankie in the doggie bed. I am even potty trained when kept on a schedule and learned what the doggie door is after only 2 days! I think I would like to have a fenced yard, but if not, that’s ok, I am good on the leash. I am not much of a barker, but I will let you know when someone is coming. If all the other doggies get going, I’ll chime in too, but that’s a trait we doxies are known for.

One of my favorite things is when my foster mom rubs my belly and ears, I love the attention. I am crate trained if the crate is in your room, but to be honest, I prefer sleeping in the big bed, that way we can keep each other warm. I am looking for my for real and for always furever home. I thought I had that and I was dumped like yesterday’s garbage. Are you willing to take a chance on me? I’ll give you my heart if you give me yours.

If I sound like the perfect Dachshund for you, please email Cathy at cathyjbm@aol.com and fill out an application online at www.allamericandachshundrescue.org. I hope to hear from you soon!

More about Apollo....FL

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
