Hello everyone! My name is Finn and I am, according to my foster mom, absolutely adorable. I am about a year old and although my personality reflects my age I am not a shoe chewer. I'm told that's a good thing. Everyone who visits my foster home, even the giant doggies, just loves me. I'm sweet, loving, funny, fast and quite tallented at climbing. They say I'm not supposed to counter surf but they left the chicken out so, what's a boy to do? HA! I love all my foster brothers and sisters and am quite curious about the cat who comes around for dinner but haven't gotten too close as I sense she may slap me. You see how smart I am!!! My foster mom says I am at least 95% house trained but can't be exactly sure if I'm 100% because the other fosters sometimes have an accident and she's not sure who the perpetrator is. But, I know I'm pretty good because I never get fussed at. Oh, except for the chicken incident. Sorry about that one. Mmmmm, that sure was good though! So, I think I'd like an active home. Maybe one with another doggie to run and play with. Please write my mom soon. I'm really ready to move into my forever home.
Out of State and Canadian adopters are welcome. We do not ship our dogs cargo. You will have to make arrangements to pick up the dog or for them to go by ground transport. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about FINN...LA

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
