BIO:

Hi! My name is Tater! I am a handsome black & tan, medium coat Dachshund. I am about a year old and very well behaved. My owners did not have the time to take care of me, and they knew they wanted me to have the best life possible and gave me to AADR.

I am a very good boy and love my foster home. There are lots of other Dachshunds for me to play with and two kitty cats. I get along with everyone and my foster mom says I am such a good pup. I am house trained as long as I am on a schedule, crate trained, and even like bath time! My favorite thing to do is sit next to the bathtub and try to hop in with you, so we can have bath time together. I am very playful and think I would enjoy a home with a brother or sister Dachshund. I also really enjoy having a fenced in yard, but will walk on a leash if needed.

I am very friendly, and like all humans, big, small, boys and girls. I am not much of a barker and only speak up when everyone else gets going. I do like to jump up to greet the little humans, but I am working on containing my excitement when I am around them so I don’t scare them.

I am looking for my very own forever home, hopefully with another doggie or a kitty to play with. I am still very young and full of energy. If I sound like the perfect Dachshund to you, feel free to email my foster mom Cathy at Cathyjbm@aol.com and fill out an application at www.allamericandachshundrescue.org

More about Tater....NC

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
