BIO:
Marty is the super sweet loving, reddish brown, smooth hair baby boy that is looking for his forever home.  He plays great with his other 3 brothers and 1 sister.  Marty and his siblings were born on June 26th, 2015, in a vet’s office in Tennessee, after their mom, Lady, was surrendered by a family who couldn’t take care of her anymore.  Marty plays for a little bit and sleeps a lot, just like most puppies do.  He loves giving kisses and being held.  He is a precious doll, however, remember that puppies are a LOT of work, and they really do require someone at home around the clock (aside from errands) to train and take care of them.  If you have little or no experience with owning a puppy, I highly recommend a book called “The Puppy Primer” by Patricia B. McConnell, which you can get from Amazon.  “Dachshunds for Dummies” (on Amazon as well) is also an excellent source of information, even if you already have experience with dachshunds.  Please be advised that if you are approved to adopt you will have to come to Benton or Paducah, KY  to pick up the puppies after their 2nd set of shots, which are scheduled for August 28th, 2015,

=============== Information for all dogs/adopters ==============

If you have questions about this dog please feel free to contacte the foster home at the email address listed above.  They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal.

We will not adopt into the state of CT, RI or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have an issue with this you need to take this up with your legislatures.

If you are interested in adopting this Dachshund please Read Before You Adopt and then you can complete an Application.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST IN A RESCUE.

More about Marty....MO

Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
