Hi, I am Pablo, which means small, handsome man! Right now I am staying with my Foster Parents who are taking very good care of me while I wait to be adopted. I love going for my walks every day. They tell me I am such a good boy, and so well behaved. I’m quiet and not much of a barker, so you don’t even know I am there. I am completely potty trained, and I get rewarded with treats. I get in my bedroom/crate when it’s time for bed, but my Foster Parents let me have the house when they go to work because I’m good about not getting into anything or having accidents. I am 5 years old, and neutered so I can’t have any kids. I am up to date on all my shots and a very healthy young man. I love people and kids, if they are not rough with me. I may sometimes growl at other male dogs, but I am just playing my tough guy card. I am very soft and love to snuggle up next to you with kisses...I just want to make you happy. I am camera shy, so my Foster Mom is struggling to get more pictures of me. If you want to give me a loving forever home, please contact my Foster Mommy, she loves to talk about me.

Good with Dogs, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
