BIO:
My name is Lily and I am looking for my furever home. It would be really great if I could find it before Christmas. That would be the best Christmas present in the world. So just let me tell you a little about myself and you will be able to judge for yourself if I will be your next furbaby.
My Foster Mommy says that I am the best ever little girl. I am sweet and loveable and oh so ever cute. She just cannot fathom why I was surrendered to a shelter. It was a great day when the shelter got in touch with AADR. Now let me brag a little about myself. I potty outside and when Foster Mommy is at work I have a pee pad to use if I need to. I walk great on a leash and I am crate trained and I love to sleep in my crate at night. If I can get away with it I love sleeping in the big bed also. I love to snuggle on your lap when you are watching TV or reading. I am up to date on all my shots and I have no food aggressions. What more could a person ask for.
It would be really great if my new forever home had a fenced in yard and another dog for me to play and sleep with. Foster Mommy says that kids any younger than 10 would not be good due to the fact that I might be hurt by accident. I am one of the longer doxie’s and I cannot be carried around like young children like to carry their puppies.

Good with Dogs, Not Good with Cats, Good with Kids
AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.
Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
