BIO:

Little Bit came from a puppymill in AR/MO where she was surrendered to a shelter because they were done with her, thrown away like yesterday’s trash.

She needs someone that is going to continue to work with her to help her be the pet she should be not a breeding machine. She is skittish but more so with men, probably because the puppymiller was a women and no men took care of Little Bit. We are saying no kids because they would make her too nervous and we think another well-adjusted dog to help her know what it’s like to be a pet and a fenced in yard is a must because she’s not leash trained.

Won’t you help Little Bit? She is just the sweetest little girl and would not hurt a fly, we just need to show her that the world is love not something to fear.

Good with Dogs, Is Not Good with Kids

AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten.

Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers that will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast and mid-west. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. For now, please look for dogs on your coast.
